When facebook was launched by Mark Zuckerberg as a platform for the public, back in February 2004, he probably never thought about the potentialities of his creation and that what he made, first as a joke and then as a project, would actually provide employment to thousands of people one day and that there would be whole internet marketing and social media engineering companies, who would be providing options to buy facebook likes and facebook fans!
Facebook has emerged as the god of social media. It was initially built as a prank and was primarily a platform to compare two images and like one over the other, and believe it or not, those images were actually stolen by Zuckerberg and his friends from the Harvard University Databases. This prank project was actually turned into a networking platform for the Harvard Uni students and then moved onto being a public networking platform for the masses in Feb 2004.
Facebook has more than 600 million users, as of today, and these users are the biggest target for many a social marketing and internet advertising companies. The best part of things is that these users are all accessible from one central place with no travelling required. More and Social media Advertising and marketing companies are now providing options for people to buy facebook fans and facebook likes for their facebook business pages. Targeted fans also means that the users, who like the page and become fans, are people who are naturally interested in the product or service a page is offering and thus there is an increased chance of sales.
